Mohamed Ouahbi takes charge of the Atlas Lions after the Regragui era
Mohamed Ouahbi has been officially appointed as the new coach of Morocco, succeeding Walid Regragui. Titled with the U20s, the technician will have to instill a new dynamic while capitalizing on the historic legacy left by his predecessor.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation officially announced this change during a press conference at the Mohammed VI Complex. This handover comes after the farewell of Walid Regragui, whose tenure will be marked by an unprecedented run in the World Cup and a game identity built on exceptional defensive solidarity.
Mohamed Ouahbi, recognized for his world champion title with the U20s, brings a reputation for tactical rigor and expertise in the development of the youth categories. His modern management approach, focused on intensity and group cohesion, aims to structurally strengthen the national collective.
The strategy is based on intelligent continuity: gradually integrating the new talents from the youth selections into the current golden generation. The major challenge for Ouahbi will be to enrich the offensive register of the team while preserving the competitive DNA and the iron discipline installed in recent years.
The upcoming international deadlines will place the new coach under close scrutiny from supporters and observers. His first call-up lists and tactical choices will serve as strong signals to confirm Morocco’s high ambitions on the continental and global stage.
