Migrant Boat Capsizes Off Morocco Coast, Killing 6 Including Mother and Infant

A boat carrying about thirty people, candidates for illegal immigration, has just capsized on its way to the Canary Islands. 6 people died, including a baby, his mother, and another woman. There are also several injured.
This tragedy took place off Sidi Ifni on Thursday, June 27, 2019, very early in the morning. A misstep by the organizer of this crossing would be the cause of this accident, as the boat was about to leave the port. Six people died, including the organizer, a mother and her baby. Ten other people were injured and 24 in total were rescued by civil protection agents.
These migrants would mostly be from the provinces of Tantan, Sidi Ifni and Kalim. The injured were transferred to the hospital while the 14 other rescued people were arrested. The bodies of the deceased victims were taken to the morgue of the Sidi Ifni hospital.
An investigation has been opened to shed light on the whole affair and to determine the responsibilities with regard to this accident.
