Mentally Ill Suspect Arrested in Brutal Murder of Missing 60-Year-Old in Morocco

The Royal Gendarmerie has managed to unravel the thread of the horrible homicide perpetrated in Ighrem, towards the end of November. A sexagenarian was tied up and thrown into a pit in the province of Taroudant, before being burned alive.
A missing person report was issued by the victim’s family, who had left the family home under mysterious circumstances, to the security services of the city. His body was found a week later at the bottom of a ravine.
According to the investigation, the perpetrator of the crime, a mentally disturbed individual with a long criminal record, had lured the sexagenarian to his home before assaulting him and chaining his feet and arms.
He had then taken him to a deserted place and thrown him into a deep ditch. By setting his body on fire, he watched his victim immolate himself, gradually stoking the fire with a bundle of hay.
