Meningitis Outbreak Prompts Health Alert in Agadir Region, Morocco

Two children were transferred last Friday to the emergency room of Hassan II Hospital in Agadir. Originally from Ait Amira, in the province of Chtouka Ait Baha, they showed signs of meningitis.
These children were transferred to the provincial hospital of Agadir after being examined by the medical staff of the Mokhtar Soussi regional hospital in Biougra, due to the seriousness of their health condition, reports Barlamane.
According to the same media, this incident mobilized the health authorities in the region, where the population of Douar Ikram in the commune of Ait Ameera should be examined by regional medical committees after the occurrence of similar cases.
The objective of this action is to put an end to this serious disease and try to detect the causes of this condition in the region, it is further specified.
