Massive Fire Engulfs Major Moroccan Chocolate Factory in Casablanca

The largest confectionery in Morocco, Pastor-Macao, was ravaged by a huge fire in the afternoon of Monday, August 3, in the Beauséjour district of Casablanca. No loss of human life is to be deplored.
The incident broke out around 3:30 pm on Monday, when all the staff had just left the famous chocolate factory, which is located in the middle of a densely populated residential neighborhood.
According to Alyaoum24, giant flames were emerging from the attic of the confectionery, overcoming several cardboard boxes containing candies and chocolate, and endangering the hundreds of lives in the neighborhood.
"Six fire extinguishing vehicles, two ambulances and 80 firefighters" were mobilized for about 2 hours to bring this huge fire under control, notes a witness, who specifies that the many gas and fuel tanks stored in the factory represented a potential danger for the sector.
