Massive Cannabis Bust: 4.4 Tons Hidden in Fish Cargo at Tangier Port

A routine check by elements of the National Security and customs services led to the seizure of 4.4 tons of cannabis in an international transport truck, registered in Morocco.
The large batch intercepted on Tuesday, October 29 at the Port of Tangier-Med, was carefully packaged and packed in a fish cargo destined for export, said a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The statement adds that the driver of the truck registered in Morocco was arrested and taken into custody, at the disposal of the investigation conducted by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in order to determine the circumstances of this case.
The investigation continues as part of the efforts made by the police services in the fight against international drug and narcotic trafficking.
