Marseille Terminates Adil Rami’s Contract Over Unauthorized TV Appearance

The contract between Adil Rami and Olympique de Marseille has just been terminated. Sidelined from the club’s training sessions since the start of the season, the former Lille player has just received his dismissal letter and will be free to choose his new destination.
According to L’Équipe, the French international defender will have to pack his bags and look for another club. Olympique de Marseille has decided to sanction a serious misconduct by terminating his contract, in complete secrecy.
The Marseille club blames Adil Rami for his participation in the "Fort Boyard" TV show, without authorization. The relationship between the two parties had become tumultuous, forcing coach André Villas-Boas to keep him away from the training camps.
Recruited for 6 million euros until June 2021, Adil Rami should appeal before the Labor Court to fail to find a compromise on the severance pay. As for his new destination, L’Équipe mentions the possibility of a move to Major League Soccer (United States), although his recent breakup with Pamela Anderson should not facilitate such a transfer.
