Marrakech Takes Center Stage in France 2’s Oriental Music Spectacular

"The Feast of Oriental Song" is the show filmed in Marrakech that France 2 is offering its viewers this Saturday evening in prime time. Big names in music, culture and show business, but also in politics, from France and Morocco, had the privilege of a preview of the best moments of this show, during a gala evening at the Arab World Institute (IMA).
"The Feast of Oriental Song" filmed in Marrakech, not only honors oriental music, but also aims to promote the tourist destination Morocco. And the list of personalities present at this evening is long, including the French Secretary of State for Persons with Disabilities, Sophie Cluzel, the President of the IMA, Jack Lang, the President of the Foundation of the Museums of Morocco, Mehdi Qotbi, the Moroccan Ambassador to Paris, Chakib Benmoussa, the new Secretary General of the France Télévisions group, Christophe Tardieu.
And Jack Lang declared that "it is a great pride and immense honor for the IMA to be associated with this event on oriental music". Following him, Christophe Tardieu of the France Télévisions group, expressed the pride of his group "above all to give back joy, gaiety, energy and happiness, things that we are trying to rediscover little by little". In the eyes of Daniela Lumbroso, the producer of the show, "this show makes you dream and brings the sun of Marrakech to France".
This musical show, recorded between June 16 and 18, the day after the resumption of tourist flights to Morocco, is hosted by André Manoukian, French composer-pianist and Laury Thilleman. The show will be broadcast tonight at 9:05 pm (8:05 pm Moroccan time). An opportunity for many viewers, both in France and in the countries served by France2, to (re)discover stars of the song performing the most famous French and oriental repertoires. It will bring together more than twenty internationally renowned artists including Gims, Enrico Macias, Amir, Amel Bent, Carla Bruni, Camelia Jordana, Slimane and Vitaa, Dany Brillant and others. Stars from the Middle East are also present, such as the Egyptian Abu, who has 628 million views of his hit "3 Daqat", or the Moroccan singers Hasna and Manal.
"The Feast of Oriental Song" will later be programmed internationally on the TV5 Monde network, as well as on 2M, also a partner.
