Marrakech-Safi Region Attracts $2 Billion Investment, Creates 7,200 Jobs in 10 Months

The investments of over 20 billion DH received in the last ten months confirm the attractiveness of the Marrakech-Safi region.
In just ten months, 4,060 companies have been created through the one-stop shop of the Regional Investment Center (CRI) of Marrakech-Safi, which has also held 29 unified regional investment commissions (CRUI), reports Aujourd’hui Le Maroc. The commissions ruled on 137 investment projects, of which 36 were validated, with a total investment cost of 20.6 billion DH and the creation of nearly 7,200 direct jobs.
The creation of the CRI Invest digital platform has made it possible to facilitate procedures and reduce processing times, down to an average of 29 days, instead of 100 previously. "All these measures are part of an inclusive framework of collaborative work involving all the public and private stakeholders in the region," said the CEO of the CRI, Yassine Mseffer.
It should also be remembered that special attention has been paid to young entrepreneurs and VSEs, especially within the framework of the Regional Coordination and Support Committee (CRCA) of the Integrated Business Support and Financing Program (PIAFE). In addition, as part of the "Economic Integration of Youth" program, financed by the World Bank, the CRI of Marrakech-Safi has set up the redevelopment of 8 pilot centers for entrepreneurship support.
It should be noted that the 2021-2023 strategic action plan unveiled by the CRI is based on data. It is "the implementation of a regional competitiveness index that will allow regular monitoring of the socio-economic positioning of the region, as part of a regional observatory of economic development," notes the daily.
