Marrakech: October’s Hidden Oasis for Sun-Seekers

The Met Office reveals the destinations benefiting from temperatures above 22°C this month. One of them is located only 3.5 to 4 hours from Great Britain, where the mercury reaches 30°C. This is Marrakech. The British national weather service designates it as one of the four imperial cities of Morocco, alongside Fez, Meknes and the capital Rabat. "Despite the autumn season, the month of October in Marrakech still experiences maximum temperatures of around 28.3°C, eight hours of sunshine and about 22 mm of precipitation during the month," says The Met Office, adding that it also tends to see minimal cloud cover.

Over time, Marrakech has become the preferred destination for French celebrities: some to spend their holidays, own property and live there, and others to celebrate their weddings. Since 2019, top model and TV host Adriana Karembeu has owned a luxurious hotel in Marrakech that impresses anyone lucky enough to stay in this establishment. With his wife Jennifer, Gérard Lanvin owns a "heavenly house, surrounded by a magnificent garden," the actor described in the columns of the Journal de la Maison on October 2, 2024.

In 2008, Jamel Debbouze celebrated his love (for Mélissa Theuriau) in a riad in Marrakech. In September 2011, TV host Moundir married his wife Inès in the Ochre City. Rachel Legrain-Trapani and Valentin Léonard celebrated their wedding on October 19 and 20, in the Agafay desert, about twenty kilometers from Marrakech.
