Marrakech Nominated for World’s Best Destination 2020 Despite Pandemic

The city of Marrakech has not lost any of its charm, despite the coronavirus pandemic. It is one of the 22 cities nominated for the award for the best destination in the world for the year 2020.
After Moscow in 2019, it may be Marrakech’s turn this time to win the award for the best destination in the world, especially since it has convincing assets to put into play. It is the preferred destination for local and international tourists, who never miss an opportunity to go there, despite the increase in cases of contamination. The event is organized by the World Travel Awards.
Last August, the travel site TripAdvisor included Marrakech in the list of the top 25 destinations in the world. The travel platform described Marrakech as a "magical place" because of the splendor of its unique markets, palaces, mosques and gardens. It also invited travelers to find inner peace by visiting the Majorelle Garden, which also opened to the public on October 1, after several months of closure.
In addition to this, the authorities have facilitated the conditions of access for foreigners who can enter Morocco with a hotel reservation or an invitation, as well as a PCR test dated 72 hours before boarding. These easing measures are necessary for the relaunch of the Moroccan economy which has been severely battered due to confinement and other restrictive measures.
