Marrakech Comedy Festival: Malik Bentalha launches his own event in... Marrakech

Four years after the end of the Marrakech du Rire festival, Malik Bentalha is taking up the torch with the Marrakech Comedy Festival. The event will be held in early June and will be broadcast internationally, marking the comedian’s strong comeback.

Creative effervescence is animating Malik Bentalha more than ever. According to information revealed by Le Parisien, the artist is orchestrating the launch of the first edition of the Marrakech Comedy Festival, scheduled for June 4-6. Produced by Karim Debbouze, this new major event will be held at the Palais des Congrès, offering an unprecedented showcase to combine modernity and tradition, far from the former iconic setting of the Palais Badi.

While the shadow of his mentor Jamel Debbouze looms over this project, the thirty-year-old promises a unique and rethought concept. "It will be a new story, with all modesty, to continue to highlight many young talents on stage," he assures. The assumed ambition is to celebrate emerging African and French artists alongside rising figures like Meryem Benoua or Nordine Ganso, in a spirit that primarily claims "humor, love, and fraternity."

To perpetuate this grand visual spectacle, a solid distribution strategy has been devised. In addition to a broadcast on the 2M channel in Morocco and on TV5 Monde, the gala evening will be offered this fall on Disney+. An unprecedented partnership for the American platform in French stand-up, which will also extend to fiction: the actor is preparing the filming of his own autobiographical series this summer, simply titled "Malik."
