Marrakech Café Shooting Trial Delayed to February, 16 Defendants Await Proceedings

New developments in the case of the shooting at Café la Crème in Marrakech. The Court of Appeal has just postponed the examination of the case of the persons prosecuted for "premeditated murder with a firearm" to February 5.
The postponement is to allow "the defense to prepare its pleadings following the decision of the court to insert a new file in the main case in which three other defendants are being prosecuted," reports the MAP.
In total, 16 people are being prosecuted in this case, including the owner of the café and the main defendants, two Dutch nationals from the Dominican Republic and Suriname, who had opened fire, killing one young student and injuring two people.
According to the investigation conducted by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the suspects have numerous criminal records and direct links to cases of international drug trafficking, kidnapping and hostage-taking, ransom demands, armed robberies and attempted voluntary manslaughter.
