Marrakech Café Shooting Appeal Trial Postponed to March 30

The appeal trial of the defendants in the case of the shooting at the La Crème café in Marrakech has been postponed to March 30. This is the decision made by the criminal chamber of the Marrakech Court of Appeal on Tuesday.
The Court of Appeal postponed this case to allow the lawyers to prepare the defense and summon a sworn interpreter, reports Al Massae. In total, 19 people involved in the commissioned murder of the "La Crème" café were tried before the court of first instance in Marrakech. Among these people, 13 were prosecuted while in custody. Some had been sentenced to 2 months in prison with probation, and others to 20 years in prison.
The two main defendants, the Dutch R. M, 26, and G. S, 31, had been sentenced to death. On November 2, 2017, they had mistaken their target and coldly murdered a young doctor, an intern at the Marrakech University Hospital Center. The toll was one dead and two injured.
The café owner, M. E., had received 15 years in prison, while his brother had been sentenced to eight years in criminal confinement.
