Marrakech Airport Sees Surge in International Flights as Morocco Reopens Borders

Since the reopening of the Moroccan borders, Marrakech-Menara airport is attracting the largest number of passengers. A 22% increase in the week of February 14-20 compared to the week of February 7-13, according to the established flight schedule.
As Morocco’s top tourist destination, Marrakech-Menara airport is expected to see the weekly number of rotations gradually increase. They should reach 356 this week, compared to only 291 rotations the previous week.
Starting next Thursday, there will be a progression of 10 rotations per day. Just on Monday last, there were 52 rotations with 23 arrivals, including 2 from Casablanca for a capacity of 166 passengers, as well as 21 international flights for a capacity of 3,528 seats, compared to 1,945 seats the Monday before.
Of the 21 international flights, 10 came from France (Paris 4, Nantes 1, Lyon 1, Marseille 1, Bordeaux 1, Perpignan 1, Dole 1), 3 from Spain (Barcelona 2, Madrid 1), 2 from Portugal (Lisbon), 1 from Switzerland (Geneva), 1 from Israel (Tel Aviv), 1 from the United Kingdom (Stansted) 1 from Turkey (Istanbul), 1 from Italy (Bergamo) and 1 from Belgium (Charleroi).
