Marine Le Pen Vows to Ban Islamic Headscarves in Public if Elected

If elected, Marine Le Pen, the candidate of the Rassemblement national (RN), will put an end to the wearing of the veil in public spaces in France. According to her, this will satisfy a demand expressed by 85% of the French.
The fight against Islamism will notably involve the banning of the wearing of the veil in France. This is what the RN candidate proposes. During her appearance on RTL, Marine Le Pen "is greatly afraid (of Islamism) because it attacks all the foundations of our constitution." "Tomorrow, the veil will be banned. That means that if you wear the veil, you won’t be arrested on the street, you’ll get a fine just like it’s forbidden not to wear a seatbelt. And it seems to me that the police manage very well to enforce this measure," she affirmed.
According to her, this is a measure that the French are demanding. "They are, I believe, more than 85% to wish that there be no more veil in the street, because they have well realized that in the last 20 years, this veil has been used by the Islamists as a uniform, and a demonstration of the advance of Islamic fundamentalism," she further affirmed, continuing her rise in the polls (between 21% and 23% according to the institutes).
