Manhunt Intensifies for Attackers of Former Moroccan Royal Bodyguard’s Driver

Ten days after the spectacular attack on the driver of the former bodyguard of King Hassan II, Mohamed Mediouri, the police have still not found the perpetrators. This does not mean that the investigation is not ongoing and the newspaper Al Massae even talks about a manhunt.
There are said to be several roadblocks installed at the entrances and exits of the city of Marrakech in an attempt to find the attackers.
Identikit photos are available to the police and gendarmes following information provided by witnesses. The confidences of a parking attendant and a merchant have been exploited by the investigators, the newspaper explains, according to which even carts and other rudimentary means of transport wishing to leave the ochre city are being thoroughly searched.
This attack occurred about ten days ago near the Al Anouar mosque. The driver had been violently attacked by several individuals who tried to take possession of his car. It is not yet known whether they intended to attack the former personal bodyguard of the king or simply to seize the vehicle, a luxury 4x4.
There are still gray areas that will have to be clarified in the investigation conducted by the police services. Agents from the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance have also been called in as reinforcements to apprehend the attackers and finally try to determine the motive: a botched robbery or an assassination attempt on a Moroccan personality?
