Man Jailed for Elaborate Gender Deception Scheme in Identity Fraud Case

A man was sentenced to four months in prison in mid-July for impersonating a woman in order to fraudulently obtain identity documents.
The court found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to a fine of 5,000 dirhams, as well as the payment of court costs with minimum execution, according to the site Al3omk.
The prosecution had brought several charges: insulting the judicial police by reporting a crime knowing it to be false, denouncing an imaginary crime, presenting falsified evidence, habitual begging, begging with a minor child, homosexuality, exploitation of a child under fifteen in forced labor, intentional transport and concealment of a child, as well as presenting him as born to a woman who did not give birth to him.
The man had presented himself to the personal status service of the court of first instance, pretending to be a woman named "S.A.". He was requesting his registration in the civil status registers, claiming to have been born to unknown parents and to have been raised in a foster family without having any official identity documents. He was accompanied by an infant whom he presented as his biological son.
The investigation by the judicial police, conducted on the instructions of the public prosecutor’s office, established that this alleged woman was a repeat offender who had modified his physical appearance to conceal his true identity.
Placed in custody and then in pre-trial detention by decision of the investigating judge, he was prosecuted for all the alleged acts.
