Malian Traveler Arrested at Casablanca Airport with Over 1 kg of Cocaine

A Malian national was arrested on January 24 with 1,270 grams of cocaine, according to the Casablanca prefecture.
The security services operating at the Mohammed V International Airport arrested the suspect as he was disembarking from a flight from Conakry, for his alleged involvement in a cocaine trafficking case, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The accused had swallowed this quantity of drugs to evade the vigilance of the security forces. According to the same source, the defendant was placed under medical surveillance at the Ibn Rochd University Hospital, for the extraction of the drug from his intestines, packaged in the form of 75 capsules.
For the needs of the investigation, the suspect was placed in custody.
