Malaga-Tetouan Flight Prices Soar 668% Since 2019, Topping Spain’s Air Route Increases

With the fluctuations noted in airfares due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Malaga-Tetouan air route has become the most expensive in 2021 with an increase of 668.7% compared to 2019.
The costs of flights from Spain to certain countries have increased significantly in 2021. This year, the fare for a flight between Malaga and Tetouan has increased by 668.7% compared to 2019, reports Aerotendencias. The same trend is observed on the costs of flights from Spain to Nicaragua and Venezuela, which have increased by 41.2% and 32.3% respectively.
"The increase in prices is mainly due to a significant drop in airline capacity due to the health crisis. In the case of short and medium-haul flights, low-cost airlines have suspended some direct flights without competition... The positive side is that some low-cost companies have increased their capacity, particularly on intra-European routes, offering extremely aggressive rates to stimulate demand," explained Mario Gavira, Vice President of Growth for Kiwi.com.
