Major Piracy Sites Zone-telechargement and Tirexo Shut Down: North African Operations Exposed

The reasons behind the closure of Zone-telechargement and Tirexo, based in Morocco, two of the largest piracy sites in France and Belgium, are now known.
Zone-telechargement managed from Tunisia and Tirexo, based in Morocco, were among the must-have sites for illegal downloading and streaming. The administrators often used subterfuges to escape the French authorities. They regularly changed domain names, for example. While their subscribers did not expect it, the administrators of the two sites announced their closures. However, they did not provide any justification.
The reasons for these closures are now known. The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), one of the largest organizations defending the interests of industry giants, contacted the administrators of the two sites who would have agreed to close them, reports Geeko.lesoir.be. So far, there have been no arrests or incarcerations. "The closure of the two sites demonstrates the ability of our organization to use various tools to protect the creative ecosystem," the ACE said.
