Morocco and Algeria Compete for Dual-Nationality Midfielder Hamza Bouhadi

Morocco and Algeria are vying for former Girondins de Bordeaux player Hamza Bouhadi, who now plays for Cercle Bruges in Belgium.
French-born Hamza Bouhadi is on the radar of Morocco and Algeria, his two countries of origin. While he has already represented the Moroccan flag on several occasions, he has not yet chosen his sporting nationality. The two countries continue to "court" him. "I was captain of the U17 national team in Morocco and I had one selection in U20. Morocco and Algeria often communicate with my parents and my agents, because I am also Algerian. [...] Nothing is final for the moment," the midfielder said in an interview with the Girondins4ever website.
Born in 2004, Hamza Bouhadi was notably trained at the Association Sportive de Choisy le roi-Football. He had signed with Stade Lavallois in 2019 before signing with Girondins de Bordeaux in 2021. He now plays for Cercle Bruges, in Belgium.
