Major Drug Bust in Tangier: Over 20 Tons Seized, Restaurant Owner Among Arrested

More than 20 tons of drugs were seized on a farm in the Tangier region and at the Tanger-Med port.
Information from the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) led the elements of the National Security to arrest two major traffickers, including the owner of a prestigious fish restaurant in the city.
Suspected of drug and narcotic trafficking, a third individual, aged 39, was also arrested.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), at the time of his arrest, he was in possession of 200 grams of cocaine, a tear gas bomb, the sum of 170,000 dirhams, an amount in European currency as well as two luxury 4x4 vehicles.
In addition, the tracking operation carried out on the database revealed that the main suspect was the subject of 8 national arrest warrants, for his alleged involvement in the illicit drug and narcotic trade.
