Major Cocaine Bust: Moroccan and US Authorities Seize 215 kg at Tanger Med Port

The National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ), in collaboration with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), succeeded in foiling an attempt to traffic cocaine at the port of Tanger Med.
The operation took place on Monday, December 11. In total, 215.8 kilograms of cocaine were seized on board a freight ship flying the flag of a European country and heading to the port of Rotterdam, Netherlands, from a Brazilian port, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). The BNPJ also seized five GPS tracking electronic chips that were connected to the cocaine bales.
An investigation has been opened under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office. The National Office for Drug Trafficking Control under the BNPJ, in coordination with the Interpol office in Rabat, is conducting investigations to identify all individuals linked to the criminal network involved in this attempted cocaine trafficking and to determine its regional and international ramifications.
