Magnitude 5.1 Earthquake Strikes Morocco’s Azilal Province, No Casualties Reported

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake shook the mountainous province of Azilal, in southern Morocco, on Tuesday. No casualties were reported.
This earthquake had its epicenter in the commune of Ait M’hamed, in the province of Azilal, explained Nasser Jebbour, head of the division of the National Institute of Geophysics, to EFE. "The calls issued indicate that there were no victims, but the shock was strongly felt by the population," he assured.
After the devastating earthquake of September 8, which struck the southern provinces of Marrakech (Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Taroudant, Ouarzazate and Azilal) and caused nearly 3,000 deaths and more than 5,000 injuries, the National Institute of Geophysics predicted a 10% increase in seismic activity in the kingdom.
