Maghreb Railway Project Awaits $4 Billion Funding for Morocco-Tunisia Connection

The technical and financial feasibility study of the railway line connecting Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia has been carried out and presented by the Arab Maghreb Union. This line will require $4 billion.
Some time ago, the General Secretariat of the AMU had issued an international call for tenders "for the marketing and advertising of the study on the rehabilitation and modernization of the trans-Maghreb railway line". Here it is! The technical and financial feasibility study is here.
A video explains the route this long-awaited train will take, connecting Morocco to Tunisia, passing through Algeria. Everything is possible. All that’s missing is the money ($4 billion)... and goodwill.
A roundtable organized by the AMU was held on March 27 in Tunis to promote the "Maghreb Train" project under the chairmanship of Secretary General Taieb Baccouche, in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB) and AUDA-NEPAD (New Partnership for Africa’s Development).
According to the AMU, the participants were: representatives of the member states, the project steering committee, the Italferr/Comete/Medevco consortium that conducted the feasibility study of the project, potential investors and major business leaders, as well as other international development organizations and agencies.
The objectives of this line are: to ensure the transport of goods and people between the countries, to bring the peoples closer together, and to improve their social and economic conditions through, in particular, job creation and the consolidation of the economy at the local and regional level.
