DZ Mafia: the Bingui case progresses between Marseille, Spain and Morocco

The investigation, jointly conducted by the Central Office for the Fight against Organized Crime (OCLCO) and the judicial police of the Bouches-du-Rhône, accelerated on November 17 with the questioning of these suspects. While some were arrested at their homes, several were already incarcerated for other cases involving the DZ Mafia, considered the most dangerous criminal organization in France.

The charges are serious, including attempted murder in an organized gang, criminal conspiracy and possession of category A and B weapons. Among the accused is Amine O., presented as one of the leaders of the DZ Mafia. The latter, suspected of being the sponsor of the operation, was transferred on Tuesday, November 18 to the organized crime unit of the high-security prison of Condé-sur-Sarthe.

The facts targeted by this procedure date back to May 17, 2023. Félix Bingui, nicknamed "The Cat", was on the terrace of a cafeteria in San Pedro Alcantara, Andalusia, when he was targeted by two hooded individuals suspected of being hired killers. Although targeted by gunfire, the head of the Yoda clan and his close associate were only slightly injured.

Since this attempted elimination, Félix Bingui’s journey has also taken a judicial turn. Arrested in Morocco and then extradited to France in March 2024, he is currently incarcerated in the prison of Vendin-le-Vieil. He is the subject of multiple indictments, in particular for the importation and trafficking of narcotics in an organized gang, aggravated money laundering and non-justification of resources.
