Macron to Visit Morocco in July, Coinciding with PSA Plant Inauguration

On June 8, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian will visit Morocco. The occasion will be for him to meet his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, and to raise several topics of common interest.

Among the items on the agenda is the state visit of French President Emmanuel Macron, who will make his second official visit to Morocco. According to Telquel, this tour, scheduled for next July, should coincide with the inauguration of the PSA plant in Kenitra.

After the meeting in November 2017, the two ministers will have the opportunity to prepare the 14th High-Level Morocco-France Meeting, scheduled before the end of 2019, which will bring together the heads of government as well as elected officials and business leaders.

During his visit to Morocco, Jean-Yves Le Drian will have the opportunity to attend an Economic Meeting organized at the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez. He will also have meetings with the French community established in the millennium city.

The last meeting between King Mohammed VI and Emmanuel Macron dates back to last November. The French president had traveled to Morocco to inaugurate the Moroccan high-speed train, largely financed by France.
