Luxury Watch Scandal Rocks Hip-Hop: French Montana Faces Million-Dollar Lawsuit

Two Swiss men are accusing American rapper of Moroccan origin, French Montana, of stealing a watch worth over a million dollars and are suing him.

French Montana, a "thief" of a luxury watch? Justo Obiang and Samir Gato filed a complaint against the rapper on Thursday. They recount that they met him after a show in 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland and remained in contact with him. According to the complaint, the two Swiss men planned to meet the performer of Unforgettable in Egypt in 2024. Before responding to their invitation, he would have offered to exchange watches with Obiang, who refused.

French Montana would then have borrowed it from him in 2024 for Paris Fashion Week, with the promise of returning it. He would have given them in exchange a watch that would be a counterfeit. But the rapper did not keep his promise. The two plaintiffs claim that they never recovered their watch. For these facts, they are taking legal action against Karim Kharbouch (his real name). They are suing him for false declaration, misappropriation, etc. They are claiming over a million dollars in damages.

These allegations are false, assures Steve Haddad, French Montana’s lawyer to TMZ. The rapper claims that it was a payment for appearances in the media and social media posts in Egypt. His lawyer in turn intends to take legal action against the two Swiss men.
