Luxury Hotel Houses Homeless Women in Paris Solidarity Initiative

Malika, a 65-year-old Moroccan living in France, is one of the 59 women benefiting from the solidarity operation of the real estate group Assembly.
For four months now, Malika, without resources, no longer lives in her shelter. She has settled in a five-star hotel opposite the Opéra Garnier, graciously made available to her and 58 other women in distress as part of a solidarity operation initiated by the real estate group Assembly. A stroke of luck for this former Moroccan seamstress who has been living in France for 20 years. These women of different nationalities and their 80 children will live in this hotel until the end of the work to transform the premises into offices, by May 2022. Assembly is the new owner of this 10,000 m² property, renamed the L hotel.
"All these women have a more or less long history of wandering. Some have suffered domestic violence, others are coming out of prostitution networks. 6 social workers are accompanying them so that they regain self-confidence and undertake the necessary administrative procedures for their reintegration. A yoga room has been set up as well as a wellness lounge, hairdressing, manicure," explains Julie Acquaviva, director of the emergency housing department of the Protestant Social Action Center (CASP), to Le Parisien.
