London Scam Ring Targets Migrants with Fake Work Contracts, Authorities Investigate

A criminal network in London is involved in the trafficking of fake work and residence contracts. Its members, mostly Moroccans, threaten their victims with reprisals if they report them.
These are the conclusions of the investigation, conducted by the British Home Office, which points out that the case came to light following the complaint of a Moroccan, one of the many victims of the criminal network.
During his deposition, the young man, who was accompanied by several other victims, claimed to have been the victim of a major scam. The members of the criminal network had promised them a work and residence contract, in exchange for 40,000 dirhams each.
Even after losing their money and passports, adds the Moroccan, his friends and he continued to be the subject of threats and blackmail. Their attackers threatened to harm their families in Morocco if they filed a complaint. And it is precisely the fear of reprisals and deportation that paralyzed dozens of other victims, notes the daily Assabah.
For the British police, the criminal network, which has been operating for several years under false identities, is active in various European cities. It always proceeds in the same way. In order to put an end to this series of scams, the authorities of the country are considering calling on the services of Interpol, concludes the same source.
