Lockheed Martin Begins $227 Million Missile Production for Morocco and NATO Allies

The American company Lockheed Martin has launched the production of the American ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile System) missiles for the benefit of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) of Morocco, at its site in Grand Prairie, Texas.
The United States Department of Defense announced in a statement released on Tuesday, July 2, the start of production of the ATACMS semi-ballistic missiles by the American armaments giant at its Texas site. The US government has signed a contract of around $227 million with Lockheed Martin for the manufacture and supply of these missiles to Morocco, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, the note specifies. "The estimated completion date of production is December 30, 2028," it is stated.
The ATACMS semi-ballistic missile is a tactical ground-to-ground missile compatible with multiple rocket launchers or the HIMARS rocket launcher. It can reach its target at a distance of 300 km with an accuracy of 10 meters. There are several versions of the ATACMS, including the MGM-140A Block I, the MGM-140B Block IA, the MGM-164A Block II and the MGM-168 Block IVA. The latest models offer better accuracy and increased range as well as different payloads such as unitary warheads or submunitions.
