Liège Community Rallies to Support Moroccan Family After Tragic Loss of Three Children

In Liège, a wave of solidarity is forming to help the Boujamaoui family who lost three of their four children in a terrible road accident in Morocco. Grieved, this family of Moroccans residing in Ans no longer intends to return to the family home.
The misfortune of the Boujamaoui family (now composed of the father, the mother and the eldest daughter) has touched the people of Ans who want to help them. In this sense, the Muslim and Moroccan community of Ans has launched an appeal for donations, reports La Meuse. "They will be coming back in August. And they will have to rebuild everything. They don’t even know if they will come back to where they lived. So we will have to help them. We are working with the municipality to find them temporary housing. And then, we don’t know what will happen with the insurance. And if they will need psychological support..., explains Ahmed Rassili, municipal councilor in Ans and member of the Moroccan community. So, for people who wish to make a donation, you can make your payments to the bank account of the Islamic and Cultural Center of Ans".
The Boujamaoui family lives in social housing in the Al’Trappe district in Alleur. After the tragic accident, they no longer intend to return to the family home. They can count on the support of the municipality of Ans which intends to help them. "We can imagine that the family is having difficulty returning home, where they have all the memories of the children," explains Walther Herben, acting mayor. The idea is, with their agreement, to see with the Société de logements du Plateau, and with the social real estate agency, if we can find them a temporary replacement housing. For as long as necessary. The time it takes. The time they accept or not to return home. If they express this wish, then we will do our utmost to help them."
The Société de logements du Plateau is already active: "I have been in contact with the family’s relatives. As of August 1st, we will be initiating a whole series of contacts to obviously provide a solution. Other actions will also be implemented from next week. Be assured of our strongest support. This terrible news touches me deeply, especially since when I went to the district, I often saw them playing on the field and the children participating in activities in the Alleur district," explains Patrice Lempereur, its president.
