Libyan Foreign Minister Seeks King Mohammed VI’s Help Amid Security Crisis

Abdelhadi Al Houij, Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs, asked King Mohammed VI to help his country in the crisis that has shaken it since the death of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
The crisis facing Libya is not political but rather security-related, said Abdelhadi Al Houij, Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs to Assabah. According to him, the current situation in the country is characterized by the proliferation of weapons and the tyranny of outlaws and Daesh fighters.
Based on this rather unflattering assessment, the minister has sought the help of King Mohammed VI. He wishes that the Moroccan sovereign would sponsor a "Skhirat Agreement II" as soon as the Libyan capital is liberated from the militias.
Abdelhadi Al Houij is convinced that his country needs a national dialogue and a comprehensive reconciliation, similar to the experience of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission (IER) of Morocco. This body had allowed the kingdom to reconcile the Moroccan people with its past during the years of lead under the reign of King Hassan II.
