Libyan Businessman Arrested with Fake Moroccan Visa in Alleged Consulate Scandal

A Libyan national was arrested in March at the Mohammed V airport for presenting a forged Moroccan visa. He would have received the document from a travel agency in Tunis, itself from the Moroccan consulate in Tunis.
During his interrogation at the Casablanca police headquarters, the Libyan businessman, father of 4 children, had told the investigators that he had been misled by a compatriot, who ran a travel agency in Tunis.
After giving her $300, his passport and an ID photo, the young travel agent had given him an appointment at the Moroccan consulate in Tunis, where an official had helped them obtain the Moroccan visa.
According to him, the 28-year-old woman, who ran a very active criminal network with the various diplomatic representations in Tunisia, and who had the same modus operandi, had already given him several Schengen visas for his trips to France.
The man was brought before the brigade against illegal immigration and the falsification of official documents, pending the completion of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office.
