Lebanon Eases Travel Rules: Vaccinated Visitors from Morocco, Other Countries Exempt from Pre-Departure PCR Test
Moroccans and certain other foreign travelers who have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine are exempt from the test before their departure from their country of origin, but will be subject to a screening test upon arrival at Beirut International Airport (BIA). This is the decision taken by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
In a circular, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation recalled that passengers wishing to travel to Lebanon by land, sea or air and who have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine, at least 15 days before their departure, will not have to undergo a PCR test in their country of origin. However, they must undergo a screening test upon arrival at Beirut International Airport (BIA).
This measure concerns travelers from the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. As for other vaccinated travelers with a single dose or unvaccinated, a PCR test before their trip and another upon arrival at BIA are required.
As of April 16, Lebanon has recorded 509,008 cases of contamination, 423,599 recoveries and 6,899 deaths.
