Lawmaker Raises Concerns Over Poor Internet Access in Rural Morocco

The weakness of the Internet network and bandwidth in rural and mountainous areas, and in the province of Khénifra in particular, are a concern for MP Saadia Amahzoune of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) group in the House of Representatives, who has addressed a written question to the government on this subject.
In her question addressed to the Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Public Administration Reform on January 6, 2025, the MP noted that the weakness of the Internet network prevents the inhabitants of the province of Khénifra from benefiting from essential digital services, adding that this situation is detrimental to certain vital sectors such as distance education, e-commerce and administrative services.
The parliamentarian also stressed the importance of ensuring Internet network coverage of the province’s territory, asking the Minister what measures her department plans to take to address this digital deficit and accelerate the implementation of the national high-speed plan, in order to improve the quality of Internet connection in the province.
