Lawmaker Flouts Health Emergency Rules for Early Campaign in Draâ-Tafilalet

A Pdjitse deputy violated the state of health emergency in Draâ-Tafilalet to please his activists.
While he should be the first to set an example, the deputy and president of the municipal council has violated the provisions of the decree-law that his own party voted on in parliament to conduct his election campaign ahead of time.
According to the daily Assabah, it all started with the observation of the wali of the region who, during his routine inspection tour, came across an unauthorized municipal vehicle. Outraged by this observation, the wali immediately ordered the vehicle to be impounded. Informed, the president of the municipality of Errachidia hastened to send the driver a second municipal vehicle which did not take long to suffer the same fate: immobilization and impounding for the same reasons.
According to the same source, the vehicle, owned by the municipality of Errachidia, was transporting patients suffering from kidney failure to a dialysis center. In permanent campaign in the region, the president of the municipality was offering this service to his sick activists. According to the wali, the deputy not only violated the provisions of the state of emergency, but also used a vehicle that is not suitable for transporting patients under the required sanitary conditions. He believes he simply applied the law in force.
While the PJD and the activists attacked the wali with vehemence, the president of the municipality described the wali’s act as an "abuse of power" and an "arbitrary" act against the municipality, which was only carrying out a "humanitarian mission".
