Landslide Traps 14 in Van Near Marrakech, Rescue Efforts Underway

14 people from Marrakech, on board a van, remained trapped under the rubble following a landslide on the national road leading to Taroudant.
The incident occurred yesterday, Wednesday, July 24, 2019, in the evening, when a passenger transport vehicle was crushed by a sudden rock slide as it was heading towards the city of Taliouine.
According to a close relative of the driver, relayed by the site kech24, 14 people disappeared under the rubble, while major efforts were made to extract the bodies and save any survivors.
The clearing operations continued until the next day, in the hope of finding survivors. The passengers were returning home to Taliouine after attending a wedding party in Marrakech.
