Knife-Wielding Man Arrested in Belgium After Attempted Anti-Arab Attack

On Sunday, Samuel, a young man from Liège, armed with a knife, went out on the street to "kill Arabs". He tried to stab a man he met in the face. But he missed his target and the victim only suffered a minor injury, reports dhnet.be.

Samuel, a resident of the Longdoz neighborhood, was apprehended as he was trying to stab a person in the face on Sunday evening. He told investigators that he wanted to "kill Arabs" because he is convinced that the individual who had stolen his phone the day before was an Arab.

Charged with attempted murder, Samuel’s case has been referred for investigation and a committal order has been issued against him by the Liège public prosecutor’s office. The public prosecutor’s office also requested a psychiatric evaluation of Samuel to determine if he was in full possession of his faculties at the time of the events.
