King Mohammed VI Visits Jewish Heritage Site, Affirming Ties to Moroccan Jewish Community

Last Wednesday, King Mohammed VI was at "Bayt Dakira" in Essaouira, a spiritual space dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of Judeo-Moroccan memory.
H24info interviewed the Chief Rabbi and leader of the Jewish community of Casablanca, Joseph Israël, who gave his opinion on this visit by the king, which honors their community.
For Joseph Israël, by going to this emblematic place of Moroccan Judaism, the king wants to prove his affection and love for this heritage that he particularly cherishes. The Chief Rabbi maintains that Mohammed VI, as Commander of the Faithful, remains deeply attached to Jewish customs. Moreover, he never misses an opportunity to encourage the Jews of Morocco to work to preserve this heritage.
The religious leader explained that "Bayt Dakira" is a symbolic place, proof of tolerance and conviviality between the Muslim, Jewish and even Christian religions. A living together between religions that makes Morocco a land of tolerance par excellence.
