King Mohammed VI Rejects Moroccan Human Rights Minister’s Resignation

The Minister of State in charge of Human Rights and Relations with Parliament, Mustapha Ramid, remains in the government of Saad Eddine El Othmani. This is the decision of King Mohammed VI, who refused his resignation.
On his Facebook page, the resigning minister specified that he is renouncing his resignation and continues to assume his duties as minister following a telephone call from the king who inquired about his health. "His Majesty expressed that he was attached to his Minister of State and that the latter should continue to assume his responsibilities," Ramid wrote in his post.
On Friday, February 26, Mustapha Ramid had announced his resignation from the government. He had justified his departure for health reasons. However, a disagreement between the Head of Government and the minister would rather be at the origin of this resignation.
