King Mohammed VI Pushes for Faster Renewable Energy Development in Morocco

King Mohammed VI had noticed, last October, delays in the implementation of the vast project dedicated to the development of renewable energies. A reminder had been addressed to the Minister of Energy and Mines, Aziz Rebbah.
During the oral question session in the second chamber, the minister returned to the Sovereign’s clarification, and the reasons behind the delay in the deadlines for this strategic project.
"During the working session, the king had noted some delays, which will be quickly made up by the team," said the minister, stressing that 52% of the projects will see the light of day in 2025 instead of 2030.
Aziz Rebbah indicated before the advisers that an envelope of 530 million dirhams will be mobilized for the production of 400 additional megawatts, and that the industrial zones will be supplied with clean energy, particularly the automotive factories.
