King Mohammed VI Pardons 265 Prisoners, Including Terrorism Convicts, on Moroccan Independence Day

As part of the commemoration of the presentation of the independence manifesto on January 11, King Mohammed VI granted a pardon to 265 people convicted by various courts in the kingdom.
In detail, 204 detainees benefited from a remission of the prison or imprisonment sentence. In total, 12 people enjoy the royal pardon on the prison sentence or its remainder, 4 people on the prison sentence with the fine maintained, and 45 people on the fine. King Mohammed VI also granted his pardon to eight female inmates convicted in terrorism cases, and who participated in the fifth edition of the "Reconciliation" (Moussalaha) program.
"This royal benevolence towards these inmates comes in response to the pardon requests that the persons concerned have submitted to the Sovereign, and which have only received royal approval after they have officially revised their ideological orientations, rejected extremism and terrorism, and expressed their attachment to the constants and sanctities of the Nation," says the statement from the Ministry of Justice.
