King Mohammed VI Orders Probe into Harhoura Construction Irregularities

The construction sites in the city of Harhoura, which have been the subject of complaints for non-compliance, will be thoroughly examined by a special investigation commission. The audit mission has been entrusted to the services of the Royal Gendarmerie.
The passage of King Mohammed VI in the small town was experienced as a real thunderclap by the local authorities. The delays and failures observed in certain construction sites in the city have finally triggered a major "administrative earthquake".
Municipal officials and delegated companies will thus have to appear before an investigation commission, in order to respond to the failures observed on the city’s construction sites, including those whose complaints had been dismissed, Achkayen reported.
The applicants, who had filed complaints against the authorities or the delegatees of public services, have also been called upon to make depositions before the investigators.
This accountability would not be limited to municipal officials, the same source points out. According to associative activists, several agents of the land registries of the prefecture of Skhirat would also be involved in this case.
