King Mohammed VI of Morocco Ranks Among World’s Wealthiest Monarchs, Fortune Estimated at $2.1 Billion

With a fortune estimated at $2.1 billion, King Mohammed VI is one of the ten largest royal fortunes in the world, according to a ranking compiled by an American website.
It is Prince Albert II of Monaco who holds the rear of this Top 10, with a fortune estimated at $1 billion, which would represent, among other things, a quarter of the lands on which he reigns as well as a collection of vintage cars. In 9th position comes Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar who inherited the throne after his father’s resignation, with $1.2 billion.
The 8th position is occupied by King Mohammed VI, with a fortune estimated at $2.1 billion in net worth. His wealth mainly comes from Al Mada, formerly the National Investment Company, which has invested in various sectors in Morocco (banks, telecommunications, renewable energies...) but also abroad.
Prince Hans-Adam II of Liechtenstein occupies the 7th place with $3.5 billion. Then come Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg (6th ex) with $4 billion, and Emir Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum of Dubai, United Arab Emirates (6th ex with $4 billion). Emir Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, of Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), is 4th with $15 billion, while King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, of Saudi Arabia, is 3rd with his $18 billion. Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei is 2nd, with $20 billion, benefiting from the oil and gas industry. He lives in the largest palace in the world, which costs more than $350 million a year, and owns more than 600 Rolls-Royces.
King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand takes the lead, with the largest fortune in the world, estimated at $30 billion. King Maha and his family have drawn their wealth from investments from the Crown Property Bureau, which manages the assets of the Crown of the Kingdom of Thailand. According to TIME, he is also the owner of the 545-carat Golden Jubilee diamond, the largest cut diamond in the world.
