King Mohammed VI mentions "the talented children of Moroccans of the World

At the end of the 35th Africa Cup of Nations, organized in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026, King Mohammed VI sent a message of thanks to all Moroccans, hailing a national mobilization that contributed, according to the Royal Cabinet, to the success of this competition.

The Sovereign particularly congratulates the citizens in the different cities of the Kingdom for the effort made, and thanks all those who, at their level, have participated in this success widely recognized internationally.

The message highlights the "exemplary" popular support given to the national team by millions of Moroccans. It recalls that the selection is "today ranked the 8th best national team in the world", a result attributed to a sports policy and infrastructure developed at a high level.

The King also emphasizes the "patriotic choice" made by the "talented children of Moroccans of the World" to wear the national jersey and defend the colors of Morocco "with pride and brilliance", in reference to the players from the diaspora who have strengthened the team.

Beyond the sporting performances, the competition is described as a landmark moment, having allowed to measure the "qualitative leap" of the Kingdom on the path of development and progress. The message insists on a long-term vision and a model that places the citizen at the center of priorities.

The text also mentions the "unfortunate" episode of the last minutes of the final between Morocco and Senegal, during which incidents and actions considered "very deplorable" occurred. However, the King calls for the passion to subside and for the preservation of fraternity between African peoples, believing that this Moroccan success is also an African success. Morocco says it is proud to have offered, on its soil, a month of popular joy and sporting emotion, and to have contributed to the influence of African football.

Finally, the King mentions attempts at denigration and discredit, stating that they will not achieve their objective. He expresses his confidence in the ability of Moroccans to keep their distance, without being drawn into resentment or discord, and assures that nothing will alter the proximity and cooperation built over the centuries between Morocco and the countries of the continent.

The message reaffirms the African anchoring of the Kingdom and its commitment, in a spirit of solidarity and respect, in favor of a united and prosperous Africa, notably through the sharing of experiences and know-how.
