King Mohammed VI Gifts Cuban Artist Michel Mirabal, Strengthening Morocco-Cuba Cultural Ties

King Mohammed VI offered a precious gift to the Cuban painter, Michel Mirabal. Deeply touched by this gesture, the conceptual artist posted a message of thanks on his Facebook account.
The visual artist, who had benefited from a scholarship from the Monterosso Foundation for an artist residency in Morocco, did not spare his praise for the Sovereign. "Thank you very much Your Majesty, King of Morocco.. Thank you my friend. I have received the gift," Mirabal wrote.
During a private visit to Cuba, the Sovereign had acquired 18 paintings, some of which had been exhibited at the Mohammed VI Museum of Contemporary Art in Rabat and at the Moroccan embassy in Havana.
Later, the artist made a stopover in Morocco for a month, at the invitation of the king. To "commemorate the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries", the Sovereign had expressed the wish to see Michel Mirabal execute a mural sketch in a street in Marrakech.
