King Mohammed VI Explains Benefits of Military Service to Moroccan Youth

In his capacity as supreme commander and chief of staff of the FAR, King Mohammed VI addressed this Tuesday, May 14, 2019, an order of the day to officers, non-commissioned officers and troops. But also and above all, to the young people of the military service. This was as part of the celebration of the 63rd anniversary of the creation of the Royal Armed Forces.

It has already been 63 years since the Royal Armed Forces were born. It is on this solemn occasion that King Mohammed VI seized the opportunity to address an unusual message to all the FAR and especially to the young people to whom the Sovereign explained the interest of military service, and the impact that this experience is supposed to have in their life.

Indeed, in his message, Mohammed VI notified that "military service has been reestablished to allow young Moroccans of all sexes to fulfill their national duty and to be inspired by the values of the military institution, in order to "contribute to the renaissance of their country and their society".

For the Moroccan sovereign, the new version of military service must "follow precise programs whose purpose will be the training of young Moroccans". To succeed in this mission, he specified that "important responsibilities have been entrusted to the Royal Armed Forces and which go beyond purely military areas of competence and also take into account the security, human, social and educational dimensions".

In other words, "educational programs studied and diversified encompassing multiple fields and specialties aimed at diversifying the knowledge and refining the skills of young Moroccans in harmony with our constant national values and the principles of the true soldier", says the sovereign, according to whom, military service will above all allow young people "to acquire values of work and discipline through ethical, psychological and moral supervision".
