King Mohammed VI to Embark on Multi-Country African Diplomatic Tour

King Mohammed VI is expected to visit several African countries in the coming days. The announcement of this new African tour by the Moroccan sovereign has not yet been officially confirmed.
Sources cited by the Elpah website claim that King Mohammed VI is expected from April 19 onwards in at least three African countries, including Angola, Senegal and Nigeria.
Less than two years ago, the king had visited several African countries, including Guinea, Ghana, Kenya, Zimbabwe and of course Côte d’Ivoire, a country with which Morocco maintains very good diplomatic and economic relations.
Unlike many other countries, particularly European ones, the kingdom has decided in recent years to turn to the south for more economic opportunities and support for the Sahara issue. This Moroccan offensive was crowned by its return to the African Union a little over two years ago.
If Mohammed VI’s trip to Nigeria is confirmed, it will undoubtedly be about the gas pipeline currently under project between the two countries and which should cross a large part of West Africa.
